XXXIV. The Prostitute

I do not remember the year, but it was in the eighties. We had a real prostitute move into the Eden areas, she first set up on the bridge street area near Leaksville, she was a hefty mamma and did a good business with the local fellas. Detective Frank Watkins first busted her when she ran up a sixteen hundred dollar power bill.....then, she moved.....to Elam Avenue and detectives watched her progress.....Bud Moretz and I watched her business for a few days and we saw numerous cars at her place..we recorded the license numbers....and we tried to find a way to combat prostitution in Eden.

Bud and I drove to the "Builder's mart on Bridge Street and bought a pound and a half of roofing nails...that night we observed the prostitute....doing her business...there were several cars in the drive.....bud parked away from her trailer and I walked into the area......I sowed the drive graciously with nails and we notified patrol operations that there would be numerous drunk drivers on Elam Street the next morning...

 The fat lady left Eden.
