A movement is reportedly under way to have Reidsville made the county seat of Rockingham County because Wentworth does not have electric lines. 

Although the change is believed to have strong support in Reidsville, Leaksville and Spray, there is stubborn opposition in the western part of the county. However, residents of the Madison area are said to favor a plan that would create a new county by dividing Stokes and Rockingham counties and making Madison the county seat of the new entity. 

Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Apple, the clever hotel people of Madison, have leased the new inn at Rural Hall and will take charge as soon as it is completed. ... Lindsay Patterson, aspirant for Congress, was hung in effigy at Spray. There was a large crowd present and much excitement prevailed. The rope was swung over a telegraph pole. 

Dr. G.A. Mebane is moving his family from Greensboro to Spray. ... Col. J.N. Graig of Reidsville, colonel of the Third Regiment, North Carolina State Guard, recently inspected the Gate City Guards in Greensboro. ... Sharp & Sharp of Rockingham County sold 1,293 pounds of tobacco in Greensboro for $147.60.
