The Reidsville High School Golden Lions are 14-5 in this basketball season but, says Coach Hoy Isaacs, lack of height keeps them from being truly outstanding. If we had a couple of big boys, this team could really go places, he said. We have good reserves, the boys can handle the ball pretty well and they shoot fairly well. But they surely do need some height. The Lions are led by brothers John Citty, who is averaging about 15 points a game, and Hugh Citty. Both are guards under 6 feet. All-state football player Charlie Royster joined the team after the gridiron season and has been outstanding, scoring 20 points in one game and 16 in another. Forward Jimmy Faircloth is captain. James Shreve is the other starter.

Alcoholics Anonymous groups from Leaksville, Martinsville, Danville and South Boston, meeting with the Reidsville A.A. group, heard the wife of a Danville business executive tell of how she had resisted facing the facts of alcoholism but now is enjoying sobriety as she advances through the 12 steps of the A.A. program. ... Bitter cold descended on Rockingham County and was abetted by a freezing rain that forced school cancellations and left county highways glazed over with ice.
