Title: 911 Review - two years after
On 2001-09-11 murderer attacked World Trade Center. On 2001-09-25 Chinese communist send a intelligence team to Washington D.C. to "assist to capture WTC-attack murderer" Public understanding is that Afghan's Taliban carry out attack to WTC. Chinese communist goto U.S. to capture Taliban?! That is dog catch mouse! Not Chinese communist business! It is not possible that U.S. at their busiest period allow Chinese communist goto U.S. to do unrelated action. The fact is that fourteen days after WTC attack U.S. allowed Chinese communist to go to U.S. to "capture murderer". This fact means that Chinese communist spy net in the U.S. IS murderer! With the communism smoke of "world revolution", Chinese communist transfer its spy-net-in-U.S. to its master's direct command. In WTC attack, in anthrax virus spread, Chinese communist's master let Chinese face show up everywhere. Mislead U.S. to believe it is Chinese communist start attack U.S. and drive U.S. to go war with Chinese communist. That is to start "Sino-U.S. big war" Use U.S. gun fire to kill most Chinese citizen. To achieve its master required "One after one high skyscraper; one after one tomb plate. One after one green mountain; one after one grave pile. All United States become a big public tomb field, and all China become a huge graveyard."
** Chinese communist must explain to the world community ** why Chinese communist goto U.S. to capture murderer? ** "capture murderer" get what result?

progress often is the excuse for change that could be done in other ways, it is unfortunate that John Leak's Leaksville had to change its proud name for opportunitys sake. hope it was 'worth' it.
i like looking back to remember what leaksville used to look like .if any one remembers a little girl who used to live in corkys trailer park her name was wendy i can,t remember her last name but her family moved some wherei would like her to contact me . we were friends in gramar school thanks if you could help.
All the old pictures and information is great.
Continued from previous message: Also another fact for you. The name of the high school was changed from Tri-City High School to John Motley Morehead High in 1958. The area of Carolina Heights in Spray originally consisted of what was known as "mill houses" for employees of Fieldcrest Mills. The business area in North Spray close to the "Rock Church" was known as the "Cook Block".I am visiting my daughter in Atlanta and decided to visit your website, thought I'd add a little more info for you. I also grew up before inside bathrooms and running water, as was the case in Carolina Heights. We had outside toilets, pumps for water and a big number 10 tub for baths. Sounds like fun, huh?! Maybe you can use this info on your web site, maybe not, but I think you've done a great job.
I grew up in Carolina Heights in Eden, only 2 houses from Butler's store. The original floor was dirt, however Ma & Pa Butler had a cement floor poured prior to retiring and selling the business to their son, George Butler. He in turn sold it to Zelma Jones. The store remained a favorite gathering place for all the children of all ages until it closed.
Lots of memories come back as I look at the pictures. My dad, the late Ed "Crip" Adkins worked for Fieldcrest all of his life. We lived on Patterson Street. I graduated from Tri-City High School in 1954 and left for college and have not lived in Leaksville since. Thanks to the people who keep this web site up.
Wonderful website. I love hearing about our history.
I've signed once before, but remembered some other things that might be of interest. There were several businesses that many people would probably love to hear about such as Edmonia's Stylorama (on Monroe Street when it was open--ran by my late aunt Edmonia Turner Hubbard), Paristyle Beauty Shop (ran by Nell Lester & her sister Zelma--was on Washington Street), the old drug store that was beside Edmonia's shop (I think the Full Moon is where is used to be)--they had the best grilled cheese and coke in the world, the Railroad Cafe which is still open and located in Draper, run by Homer Wood, Lashley's Department Store which was on Washington Street. I may have some photos and some information about Carolina Heights. I do have one photo of my aunt when she won Miss Tri City sometime in the 30's. I'll be back often. Have thoroughly enjoyed it. Been on this site for hours now--time for a break. Great job! Now if you could build a site about Stoneville......
I love the site. I was born in Leaksville at Tri City Hospital in 1960. I found a picture of my Father in the Marshall Fields book--I cried. I was however surpised to not find anything about Cliff Lester and the big bank robbery from years and years ago or about Mr. Fogleman (the one who's wife put on his tombstone Murdered by the State of NC). Something else that should be on the site is Fair Funeral Home. It's a truly special site. Thank you. I still call it Leaksville, Spray and Draper and always will--it shouldn't have been renamed. Again, thank you.
Wonderful site! I only found your web site for the first time today. I was
born in Reidsville, NC but I lived in Eden for 13 years while working for
Fieldcrest Mills. I was married in 1967 when Eden became Eden. I remember the
old Spray Mercantile just as I see in some of your pictures. I had lunch there
at the lunch counter many a time. I also ate at Dick's in the Leaksville area of
Eden. This wonderful area will always hold a very fond place in my memory.
Leaksville, Spray, and Draper, as well as The Meadowgreens Sanitation Area were
all wonderful places. The old movie theatre on the Boulevard for the 1960-1970's
will forever be in my memory. The traffic circle below Spray Mercantile where
Leaksville and Spray had a common city limit. The Smith river there at the
traffic circle. I recall the flood in the late 60's early 70's that covered the
circle there in Spray as the Smith and Dan Rivers overflowed their banks. All
the pictures are great. I had not thought of Sheriff Axiom or Deputy Duke
Setliff for many years. I have added your web site to my list of favorites and
will be checking in from time to time to see any new additions. Keep up the good
work because you have created a wonderful web site.
Thank you again,
Cecil L. Freeman
Great site. I enjoyed my visit very much.
I am trying to trace some of my ancestors and I know very little but was told my grandfather was buried in Leaksville in the First Baptist Cemetery. I am planning a trip to Reidsville soon and would like to visit his grave. No clue as to where to go. His name was John Wesley Gwynn, Sr.
Thoroughly enjoyed your web site. Especially enjoyed looking at the sports teams. Also had a couple of pictures of my dad, William Earl Knight, who was a deputy sheriff for Sheriff Axsom. Tommy F. Knight
BORN AND RAISED IN SPRAY. HAVE EXTENSIVE PHOTOS OF LEAKSVILLE,SPRAY AND DRAPER FIRE DEPTS FROM 1950"S AND 1960"S ALSO HAVE NUMEROUS OLD PHOTOS OF AREA. CONTACT ME.
(Hi Michael, I tried to e-mail you at the address above, but it kept coming back to me. Please e-mail me at kenny@kennycarter.net . I'd love to see some of your photos--Kenny Carter).
It was a pleasure to roam through my home town, see my 1st and 2nd grade classrooms, see my 1st grade teacher Ms. Smith. Great memories and I thank you for putting this site together. Every time I visit I try to drive through my old memories, such as Carolina Heights, Spray, Smith River areas, Leaksville downtown, just to remember. Great to see lots of the people I once knew well before I moved to Statesville.
I was born in Leaksville in 1928, Graduated from Leaksville High in 1945. Left town in 1951 for Nursing School.
Good memories of Eden, esp. enjoyed the photos. I was born and raised in Leaksville, family still there - I visit as much as possible. Thanks for a great day of browsing.
Class of '64
I've lived in Dryfork, VA for the past three years. I have three children that I often take to Leaksville to show them where their Daddy use to live and play. I was raised on West Ave. near the Five Forks. Leaksville will always be a special place of great memories of my youth.
Who is the biggest crook in Eden? She sold her incapacitated brother's home and made herself the beneficiary of the family fortune excluding her mother sister and own children.
I grew up in the five forks area.I was an original member of the A-Team.It was nice seeing some of the old photos.
I moved to this area about ten years ago,I grew up in Ridgeway , Va. This truly is an interesting site, and some of the photos are amazingly still true even today. I'll recommend it to all my friends.
I grew up in Draper; barely leaving the Leaksville, Spray or Draper area. When I was 19, in 1982, I joined the U.S. Navy and left Eden. I return once or twice a year to visit family; but Eden will always be an important part of my history.
Love your site always feels good to visit where i was born and raised. Also still feels good to leave.
DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON CAROLINS HEIGHTS?
I am interested in any old photos of Draper or my family. Where did you get the picture of the police badge that was my dad's? Who has that badge now?
The post card you have that is addressed to Annie J.(Jones) Garrett was my great aunt. The LPM who signed it was my grandfather Landis Patterson Mitchell. You see LPM finally married Annie's oldest sister Mary. I thought you might like to know. John Mitchell
Hi all! Would love to hear from you. The website is great! Thank you Kenny Carter.
My great grandfather is Barney "Peg" Carter. His son, grandson, and me found your site today.
I lived in the Draper section until 1965 when I moved to Greensboro but my mother still lives there so I visit almost every weekend. I was delighted to find a graduation picture of my uncle who graduated in 1952 from Draper.
