The photo gallery sure brought back some cherished memories. I grew up in Leaksville in the 40`s & 50`s. Graduated from Morehead in l955. Have retired (twice) since then and am now living in a small town 50 miles North of Santa

I enjoyed reading some of your articles and looking at the old photos. My family moved to Eden in 1968 from Louisville, KY and I remember not being able to find Eden on a map. All we saw was Leaksville, Spray and Draper. I also remember going to school at Leaksville Intermediate and seeing old pictures there of when it was a High School and a Jr High School. I remember when I heard they were going to tear down the old school building my wife, kids and I went out and shot a whole roll of film of the school. My wife by the way is from (Draper). There is alot of good history in the three towns but I'm glad we are now one Eden.

I'm glad to see a web site dedicated to my hometown. The pictures of the old Boy's Club, Burton Grove School, and Overlook Avenue hold a special meaning to me because I grew up on Overlook Avenue in the 1950's and 1960's. My folks and I lived next door to John Carter's parents, Doll and Buddy, and I was happy to see the photographs of them. I still remember us sitting on the front porch in the summer eating watermelon that Buddy would pick up on one of his trips.

Helen and I both are from Spray. She graduated from Morehead High in 1953 and I from Leaksville High in
1949. We have lived in Burlington since 1954 which is the year of our marriage. We frequently visit Eden as we have many relativies who still reside there.

I was born in Leaksville Hospital in 56. Dr. Resser delivered me. went to Burton Grove School. Dr. Blanche Norman was the principal. Lived on Manning St. Moved to Central Elementary later and went to Holmes Jr. High and graduated Morehead High School in 1974. Still living here on the west side of town just outside the Eden city limits.

phillips. they had a store in draper called cheap johns. i have two brother john john and chad phillips

THIS IS GREAT. I have lived in Leaksville, Draper
and Spray in my 76 years and have enjoyed finding

Native of Spray, N.C. Attended Lakeside, Spray Graded, Leaksville Graded, Leaksville High and Tri-City High Schools. Love the photos, but disappointed Spray is not on the map. Great site. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
